About Cooper & G-WAy
By 2008, YWT was famous nationally for pioneering fresh and great, gospel music for radio and setting new fashion trends among the few city choirs in Uganda's budding gospel industry.
That same year YWT changed its name to Cooper & G-WAy (God's WAy) standing for the lifestyle they represent i.e. a Godly way of living as Cooper prepared the Group to make its official debut on the Ugandan Gospel music scene. In 2009 their first single ‘Makondere’ went viral all over East Africa dominating the number 1 slot on Christian Radio for many months at a time.
The video for this same song garnered the same level of attention and replays on TV stations in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. And was later awarded Best Video Of The Year 2011 at the Olive Awards in Uganda.
Cooper & G-WAy released their debut album also titled ‘Makondere’ in 2009.
